I found the solution at MozillaZine Forums.I didn't do all of the things that were described in the second instruction set, as I only had to go as far as delete the IconHandler key from the registry, re-access the Tools > Folder Options > File types dialog and click OK for both file types, after which the filetypes' correct icon finally appeared.
